“Technical virtuosity, combined with musical seriousness, humour and high entertainment are a perfect recipe – the audience were delighted.”

Ian Ritchie, City of London Festival, February 2009

“In their programme, “Baching Mad”, Michael Copley and Ian Moore, otherwise known as the Classic Buskers, delighted children and adults…with their ingenious, usually irreverent but never unmusical flights of fantasy…This sort of thing can so easily fail abysmally, and cause embarrassment. Not so here, for Copley is a virtuoso recorder player – remember his “straight” recordings for Detusche Grammophon…and Moore an entertaining and versatile accordion accompanist. In addition to these, if I may put it, more serious items, were others of absurdity but undeniable charm. Chief among them was a semi-staged performance of Sheep May Safely Graze in which a small woolly animal of indeterminate shape took to the stage on a lead, delighting all smaller and younger members of the audience – of whom there were many.”
